Rain or Shine routs Shopinas.com despite Guiao ejection
MANILA, Philippines — Head coach Yeng Guiao’s ejection early in the game did not stop Rain or Shine from blowing out Shopinas.com, 96-75, Friday in the 2011 PBA Philippine Cup.
If anything, it showed the Elastopainters’s dedication to Guiao’s system — even without him on the sidelines.
“This is testimony to the system. The players already know what they’re doing,” said Guiao, who stuck around in the press room of the SMART Araneta Coliseum after he was thrown out for elbowing Ogie Menor at the back.

This time, steady marksman Jeff Chan shone with career-high 28 points — showcasing his range with a 72 percent shooting clip built around four triples.
“He’s the most consistent in the team, offensively,” said Guiao of Chan, who poured 17 of his points in the determining third quarter.

Shopinas.com was able to keep it close in the first half with James Sena leading the way — but could not contain Rain or Shine’s blistering 27-point third quarter.
Sena finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Menor, whose taunting at the Elastopainters’ bench ticked off Guiao, added 14 points and five boards for the Clickers.
