The original intergalactic superteam is back, as the hulking Monstars return to wreak havoc inside the hardwood.

With “Space Jam 2” still nowhere near the production stage, Nike’s latest Jordan Brand commercial brought back the famed animated villains to square off against two of their biggest ambassadors—Blake Griffin and Jimmy Butler.

As seen in the minute-and-a-half clip for Foot Locker, a group of young ballers seek the aid of Bugs Bunny to fend off the “apocalypse lineup” of Monstars, who take ownership of whichever court they please.

The ever-wise bunny provides them with Foot locker apparel and recruits the one-time Slam Dunk champion Griffin, who quiped, “Who’d you expect, Elmer Fudd?”

Butler, meanwhile, served as the narrator of the story, and expressed his disdain for the Monstars by spray-painting the word “defy” by the end of the clip.

It is also worth noting that the animated titans kept their original design of the 1996 film, which was based on the retired players like the towering Shawn Bradley and the diminutive Muggsy Bogues.

The ad aims to promote the release of Jordan Brand’s latest line of sneakers, the “Space Jam” Air Jordan 9, “Space Jam” Air Jordan 31 and “Space Jam”Air Jordan 1 Ultra High.

The highly anticipated “Space Jam” Air Jordan 11 will also be released on Dec. 10.

Meanwhile, the highly anticipated sequel of the sports comedy film is still being teased, but has yet to be officially confirmed.

Despite rumors that LeBron James would be tabbed as the protagonist, Michael Jordan himself endorsed Griffin for the starring role.  Khristian Ibarrola
