Eugene Toquero has no plans on taking it easy against compatriot Danny Kingad in their flyweight fight in the undercard of ONE: Age of Domination Friday at Mall of Asia Arena.

Toquero is also unfazed with the undefeated Kingad being part of renowned Team Lakay.

“I’ve fought tougher opponents than him. I wasn’t nervous before what more now,” Toquero told reporters in Filipino.

“I had a good training camp. Let’s see what happens come fight night because when I train, I train like Team Lakay,” Toquero said. “Let’s see which round the fight will end.”

Kingad is expected to take the fight on the ground and Toquero said he’s ready for whatever his opponent is going to give.

“Let’s see what his wrestling is all about. I’ll adjust to that. I may even have a better wrestling than him come fight night,” he said with a huge grin.

“I think he’s just another step for me to get back to the top, but I really need to work hard for it,” said the 35-year-old Toquero, who has lost two of his last three fights.

“There’s no easy fight, everything has to be earned through hard work.”
