Former pro Tyrone “TY” Tang is determined to turn the fortunes around of College of St. Benilde.
Tang, recently named head coach of the Blazers in the NCAA, said CSB not only nurtures the skills of its players but also opens doors of opportunities after basketball as well.
“It’s a perfect combination of ensuring them a bright future after college,” added Tang.
Tang, who played for Xavier and La Salle and Rain or Shine in the PBA, conducted his first practice last week.
Despite the Blazers winning only once in 18 games during Season 92, the team’s morale is still high.
“We’ll do everything to realize their dream of playing in the pro league some day,” said Tang, whose squad is being backed by Mighty Sports.
Mighty president Dr. John Sy said CSB is eyeing talents from the provinces. —Vanessa B. Hidalgo
