Without any PBA team picking him up in the offseason, Mark Cruz looks to make waves anew in the 2017 PBA D-League as he leads Tanduay in the upcoming Aspirants’ Cup.

Coach Lawrence Chongson confirmed the signing, as the Rhum Masters seek to claim their first title in the developmental league this upcoming season.

The 5-foot-5 guard averaged 4.2 points on a 33-percent shooting from threes, 1.4 assists, and 1.0 rebounds in 12.4 minutes this past season for Star and Phoenix.

Joining Cruz in the Tanduay camp are Santo Tomas winger Louie Vigil, and veterans Rudy Lingganay and Jaypee Belencion.

Tanduay, which banked on Kevin Ferrer and Gelo Alolino last conference, fell in the 2016 Foundation Cup Finals to eventual champion Phoenix in three hard-fought games.
