It wasn’t the start Paul Lee had envisioned when he was traded to Star.
Losing to San Miguel and GlobalPort, the Hotshots have found themselves at the cellar early in the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup.
But Lee is choosing to trust the process and is hoping that soon enough, Star will be able to notch that breakthrough win.
“We’re just staying together,” he said. “We trust the system of coach Chito (Victolero) and we’re the only
ones who will help each other.”
Despite the dismal showing, Lee said that it’s not indicative of how Star has been working hard during training.
“You can’t assess how a team will fare on its first two games. We’re different in our practices and we know
our struggles will show eventually,” he said.
Frustrations have also crept in the Hotshots locker room after the pair of defeats, but Lee said that what will define the team is how they bounce back from these hardships.
“These losses have been hard on us, especially for a team that is used to winning. Everyone wants to win, but we have to face it, fix it, and talk about how we’ll rise from this,” he said.
And Lee expects his side to perform better on their next games, starting on Wednesday against NLEX.
“It’s still early, but we have to have that sense of urgency. We have to show it in our next game,” he said. “Again, we just have to stay together.”
