Instagram post spices up Foton, Petron title duel

An Instagram post has added spice to the best-of-three championship series between Foton and Petron for the Philippine Superliga Grand Prix crown.

Foton’s import and last year’s Most Valuable Player  Lindsay Stalzer posted on her Instagram account “We’ll kick you ass!” referring to nobody in particular.

Stalzer has deleted the post but Petron players like import Stephanie Niemer and Ces Molina saw it and the rest of the Tri Activ Spikers are not taking it sitting down.

“The way I see it, Foton right now is extremely confident slash arrogant and I’m hoping that it’ll come and bite them in the butt because I think they are kind of overlooking us right now,” said the Kentucky-native Niemer.

The Tornadoes and the Tri Activ Spikers collide at 7 p.m. today in Game 1 of the finals at FilOil Flying V Center.

The battle for third place between RC Cola-Army and F2 Logistics gets going at 5 p.m.

The 32-year-old Stalzer said they are confident going into the series having beaten Petron twice this conference.

“We’d like to maintain [being grounded]; confident but not cocky,” said Stalzer.
