Nash Racela is just getting his feet wet as a head coach in the PBA, but his wards in TNT are ready to stick with him come hell or high water.

Veteran KaTropa forward Ranidel De Ocampo on Friday said the team is “fully committed” with Racela, who took over the team after Jong Uichico and interim head coach Josh Reyes.

Racela, a long-time assistant with the team, has said that he wants to start changing the mentality of the players and that’s something the team is on board with.

“He’s been our coach for a long time, he’s an assistant, and we know him, he knows us,” said de Ocampo after TNT brushed off Phoenix 117-98 at Smart Araneta Coliseum. “We are committed to him and at the same time he is committed to us.”

Racela’s first go as head coach of the KaTropa, unfortunately, was an early bump in the road when TNT lost to Meralco, 98-87.

The loss, De Ocampo said, prompted them to talk things over and he now hopes their victory over the Fuel Masters propels them further the All-Filipino Conference.

“Fortunately, we had a positive result today and I hope it continue,”said De Ocampo as they improved to 3-2.
