Teng, Brickman sure top draft choices

Ateneo La Salle UAAP Finals jeron tengThere’s no doubt on who will be the top pick in today’s 2016 PBA D-League Draft at PBA Cafe in Metrowalk, Pasig City.

From among the choices in the 128-man pool, selecting either UAAP Finals MVP Jeron Teng or Asean Basketball League (ABL) standout Jason Brickman should be on top of the agenda for AMA Online Education.

Teng, a 6-foot-2 slasher who could shake off any defender thrown his way, recently helped La Salle top the UAAP men’s senior basketball for the second time since 2013 when he also won Finals MVP honors.

The Filipino-American Brickman, on the other hand, is a 6-foot guard with multidimensional skills. He led the Westports Malaysia Dragons to the ABL title last season.

Not far from the pecking order are Monbert Arong of FEU, Jom Sollano of Letran and Mac Tallo of Southwestern U. Tanduay will pick the next best talent after AMA makes its choice followed by Racal at third overall.

At fourth, Cafe France is inclined to pick up new players from its Centro Escolar U core for the first three rounds.
The D-League Aspirants’ Cup opens Jan. 19.
