It’s no secret that Sacramento Kings’ superstar DeMarcus Cousins is a temperamental man.

His volatile personality was again on full display over the weekend, as he was videotaped berating a Sacramento-based sports columnist over an article detailing his alleged involvement in a New York night club brawl.

As seen in the clip, a shirtless Cousins with only a towel around his waist confronted The Sacramento Bee’s Andy Furillo inside the locker room, after writing about his controversial exploits with his Kings’ teammate Matt Barnes and younger brother Jaleel.

The 26-year-old All-Star was clearly not pleased that Furillo mentioned his brother, who plays for the Texas Legends in the NBA Development League, in the article.

“We’re gonna have some real (expletive) issues. Don’t ever mention my brother again. You don’t know my brother,” the towering center scowled at the much smaller and older journalist, who could do nothing to respond to the player’s profanity-laden tirade.

After being pacified by teammate Garett Temple and a Kings communications staff, Cousins backed off but continued to voice out his displeasure.

“(Expletive) coward,” he shouted. “You say whatever the (expletive) you want to say about me, but don’t mention my (expletive) family.”

Aside from this recent outburst, The Sacramento Bee also compiled other incidents where the former Kentucky Wildcat appeared rude and hostile to other members of the press.

Cousins remains as one of the league’s most talented big men, currently ranked fourth in scoring at 28.3 points per game.

His combination of size and skill is a rarity in today’s game, but he has also carved up a reputation as an extremely unstable and hot-headed individual. Khristian Ibarrola
