With the infusion of possibly the best talent in this year’s pool, AMA Online Education coach Mark Herrera is setting the bar high this 2016 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup.

“We’re very happy with the arrival of Jeron Teng, it’s going to be big for the team,” said Herrera said in Filipino after drafting the La Salle winger first on Tuesday. “It’s a big morale booster.”

Herrera had no second thoughts drafting Teng first and he hopes to see the 2016 UAAP Finals Most Valuable Player report to the Titans practice when the team start their preparation on Wednesday.

“We just need to settle the papers. He can report as early as tomorrow.”

He hopes that Teng’s entry will help AMA break through to the semifinals, a feat that the franchise has yet to achieve.

“Every conference, we reaach the quarterfinals. Hopefully this time, we can make to the semis or the championship,” he said.

Teng will join holdovers Jay-R Taganas and Ryan Arambulo, as well as draft picks Renz Palma of UE, and Jeepy Faundo and Embons Bonleon of UST.
