Rain or Shine could’ve won over Star, if not for its old habits showing up in the end.

That was how Raymond Almazan summed up the Elasto Painters’ loss to the Hotshots in a game where they blew a 10-point lead in the third quarter.

“Parang pagkatalo namin sa Ginebra eh. Last six minutes, parang doon kami bumibigay. Hindi naman siguro sa physicality yung pagkatalo namin siguro. Marami lang lapses and turnovers (It’s like our loss against Ginebra. We folded in the last six minutes of the game. We didn’t lose because of the physicality of the game, we just had too many lapses and turnovers),” Almazan said after Rain or Shine’s 99-91 defeat.

Rain or Shine had point blank misses late and also committed 14 turnovers in the game, some of which coming in the crucial stages.

“We’re up by 10, tapos akala namin doon lalayo na kami. Pero humabol sila eh. Talagang walang mahinang team sa PBA talaga, kahit anong team (We’re up by 10 and we thought we’re going to pull away but they came back),” he said.

The loss also spoiled Almazan’s great performance. He finished the game with a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds.
