Fajardo doesn’t mind producing less numbers with SMB winning

June Mar Fajardo has been the PBA’s consistent dominant force, but the gentle giant of San Miguel doesn’t mind playing a lesser role especially with his team chalking up wins.

In the Beermen’s convincing 101-86 drubbing of Meralco, Fajardo produced pedestrian numbers by his standards with an 11-point, 14-rebound line as Marcio Lassiter and Alex Cabagnot took care of their team’s scoring duties.

Fajardo, though, doesn’t mind this lack of production and he is perfectly fine with producing less as long as the Beermen will keep winning.

“Oo walang problema sa akin, iyon nga ang wino-work out ko, kahit hindi ako masyado maka-score kung ganun naman nilalaro ng teammates ko (That’s not a problem, and that’s actually what I’m trying to work on even if I don’t score much as long as my teammates are playing that well),” said Fajardo Wednesday at Cuneta Astrodome.

Lassiter and Cabagnot combined for 41 points to lead the Beermen past the Bolts as they improved to a league-best 5-1 record.

And in San Miguel’s past two games, Fajardo has averaged just 13 points compared that to the Beermen’s first four games where the three-time MVP normed 22.5 points a night.
