No star power needed for the national team.
The Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc. yesterday made it clear to those interested in joining the tryouts that their status as volleyball stars won’t be enough.
The LVPI will make the selection largely on the basis of each player’s commitment to the national cause.
The LVPI starts its deliberation in today’s board meeting, with superstars of both Philippine Superliga and Shakey’s V-League expected to attend.
“We don’t need a superstar, we don’t need politics; everybody is welcome as long as she’s willing to give their time and effort for the country,” said LVPI acting president Peter Cayco.
The LVPI said every player vying for a slot in the PH team should be “willing to play for the country at all costs.”
