PSL serves up Asean Grand Prix this September

The Philippines will see action in a four-nation, home-and-away volleyball club league clashing with Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.

This was bared by Philippine Superliga president Ramon “Tats” Suzara, who helped conceptualize the Asean Grand Prix slated this September.

Patterned after the Asean Basketball League, the tournament is expected to raise the level of volleyball in the region.

“This project has been in the pipeline for the past three years, so I’m really glad that it will finally push through this year,” said Suzara, who is also an official of both the AVC and the FIVB.

The All-Star team that the PSL will field will also see action in the Hong Kong Invitational Tournament from March 10 to 12 and the highly competitive Thai-Denmark Super League in Bangkok from March 24 to 31.

Also slated is the AVC Asian Women’s Club Championship, where Grand Prix champion Foton will go up against the region’s top squads.
