Floyd Mayweather Jr. is sharing his boxing expertise with Soulja Boy.

The retired boxing champion has agreed to train the “Crank That” rapper for his upcoming bout with Chris Brown, which stemmed from a public scuffle on Instagram.

On Instagram, Soulja Boy boasted his close relationship with Mayweather. “Me and my trainer/big brother,” he captioned his snap. Likewise, Mayweather Promotions began promoting its pay-per-view battle on social media, although details of the exact date and venue were not announced.

“It’s going down! Signed my contract I’m leaving the fight with $1,000,000,” the rapper revealed in another post, saying that the three-round celebrity match might take place sometime in March in Las Vegas.

Brown, 27, and Soulja Boy, 26, began dissing each other after the latter was accused of liking and leaving a comment on Brown’s former fling Karrueche Tran’s Instagram photo. Their feud spiked when Soulja Boy posted pictures of him smiling with Brown’s ex-girlfriend Nia Guzman and Brown’s daughter Royalty at Mayweather’s home.

Soulja Boy apologized to Brown a few days ago, reasoning that he only wanted to “make music” with the “With You” singer. But after a lengthy social media melee, Brown clinched the deal to settle their differences in the boxing ring. On Thursday Soulja Boy tweeted, “I invited Rihanna & Karrueche to the fight. I know they don’t want this bitch n***a Chris Brown no more. But they can watch me knock him out.”

To make matters worse, rapper 50 Cent backed the fight, betting $100,000 (P4.9 million) in favor of Brown. “Tell Soulja I said stop apologizing, get the Draco out build up the hype for the fight,” he dared on Instagram.

In response, Brown threw shade at his opponent in an Instagram post on the same day. “I’m not playing! Crossed the line…We [gonna] push this fight up,” he wrote. “I promise you are [to] regret this for the rest of ya life.”  Gianna Francesca Catolico
