Out to make a big splash in the developmental league, AMA Online Education parades its newest catch as Jeron Teng makes his debut when the 2017 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup opens on Jan. 19 at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Fresh from leading La Salle to the UAAP Season 79 title, the 22-year-old swingman will try to weave the same magic with the Titans when it meets newcomer Province of Batangas in the lone game at 3 p.m.
An opening ceremony is scheduled at 2 p.m.
Ten teams will participate this conference, with Cafe France, Tanduay, and Racal emerging as title favorites.
The tournament will be played on a single round robin format. The top two teams at the end of the elimination round earn outright semifinal berths, while squads ranked three to six play in the quarterfinals, with the third and fourth seed owning twice-to-beat advantages. The bottom four teams will be eliminated.
Both the semifinals and finals will be a best-of-three series.
Games will be played on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays with tip-offs set at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
