Arellano University laid claim to the second seed in the NCAA Season 92 women’s volleyball tournament after a resounding beating of defending champion St. Benilde, 25-21, 25-21, 25-21, Wednesday at San Juan Arena.

The Lady Chiefs streaked to their sixth straight win and improved to a 6-1 record behind undefeated San Sebastian College, while the Lady Blazers slipped to 5-2.

Arellano head coach Roberto Javier said the sweep of the Lady Blazers was the culmination of a yearlong plight after St. Benilde eliminated them in the Final Four of Season 91.

“For one year, we took that loss to heart,” said Javier. “That loss served as a motivation and a lesson for us.”

Rialen Sante was the highest pointer for the Lady Chiefs finishing with 15 points while Jovielyn Prado and Erica Calixto added 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Ranya Musa and Jan Daguil combined for 23 points for CSB.
