FEU stops Adamson’s unbeaten streak in UAAP jrs basketball

Far Eastern University held off streaking Adamson U, 75-73, in the UAAP Season 79 juniors basketball tournament Saturday at San Juan Arena.

The Baby Tamaraws ended the Baby Falcons’ unbeaten streak of seven games and improved to to 6-3 to start the second round of action.

After a split from Louell Gonzales gave Adamson a chance to snatch the game away, FEU turned to defense in the final play, stifling Carl Tamayo’s last ditch effort for the Baby Falcons.

Adamson labored for its shots, converting just 18 of its 55 attempts, while FEU had a slight better offensive output going for 29-of-73.

FEATURED STORIES

Jeffrey Sapinit led FEU with 24 points while Kenji Roman finished with a near double-double of nine points and 11 boards.

Encho Serrano also had 24 points to lead Adamson while Jason Celis added 22.
