San Beda sweeps awards in NCAA football

San Beda capped its dominant season by taking home most of the awards in the NCAA Season 92 men’s football tournament Tuesday at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Aside from bagging the championship, the Red Booters also grabbed four of the five individual awards.

Jay-R Sandoval was named as the season Most Valuable Player, Ralph Abriol took home the Golden Boot award for his 11 goals, Ralph Datoy bagged the Golden Glove award, and Jerome Marzan was feted as the Best Midfielder.

San Beda coach Christopher Pedimonte was also named as the Coach of the Year, while the Red Booters were also given the Fair Play Award.

First runner-up St. Benilde also had a standout performer with Ian Edmund Milay cited as the Best Defender.

San Beda also brandished its class in the juniors division, with Christopher Villanueva being named as the season Most Valuable Player.

Jessie Semblante was the Golden Glove awardee, Vince Eric Baito was the Best Midfielder, and Edwin Greg Escosora was the Best Defender.

Red Cubs mentor Ashley Flores was honored as the Coach of the Year.

CSB-La Salle Greenhills’ Theodore Travis took home the Golden Boot award with his 12 goals for the season, while Lyceum of the Philippines University was given the Fair Play Award.
