When their bet is in trouble, sporting fans are there to the rescue.
A spectator supporting Joshua Pagan climbed up the ring and tried to punch his opponent, José “Little Pacquiao” Resendez, at the Tony Rosa Community Center in Palm Bay, Florida, on Saturday.
At round six, the Puerto Rican boxer was visibly helpless with Resendez’s powerful jabs and quick footwork. Before Pagan could succumb to a grisly knockout, one of his clamorous fans took a swing at Resendez.
Although the spectator’s punch missed Resendez’s head, the referee stopped the fight, allowing Pagan to recover for a while. The rowdy spectator and his companions were escorted out of the ring.
Pagara won via a split decision and Resendez declared his willingness for a rematch with Pagan. “Just looking at this I do not need other eggs to win. I want a rematch with Joshua Pagan or his brother Aaron Pagan,” he said in a Facebook post.
