Arellano University strengthened its hold of the second spot in the NCAA Season 92 women’s volleyball tournament after sweeping Lyceum, 25-23, 25-23, 25-20, Wednesday at San Juan Arena.

The Lady Chiefs improved to 7-1 behind undefeated San Sebastian, which has a record of 7-0.

The Lady Pirates slipped to 5-3, tied with San Beda for fourth.

Jovielyn Prado led Arellano with 12 points while enjoying the support of captain Rialen Sante and Andrea Marzan who had nine and eight points, respectively.

Lyceum handed over 26 free points due to errors while Arellano limited its miscues to 16.

And those mistakes proved costly for the Lady Pirates who had four players finishing with double figures in points.

Cherilyn Sindayen and Czarina Orros had 11 points apiece while Monica Sevilla and Christine Miralles combined for 20.
