JRU stops Letran in match of also-rans in NCAA volleyball

Jose Rizal University left behind woeful Letran in the NCAA Season 92 women’s volleyball tournament, taking a four-set victory, 25-20, 24-26, 25-21, 25-19, Wednesday at San Juan Arena.
Both teams are out of the Final Four picture with the Lady Bombers sitting at no. 7 with a 3-5 record and the Lady Knights stumbling to eighth with a 1-7 slate.
Shola Alvarez led all scorers with 25 points for JRU with fellow Lady Bombers Rosalie Pepito and Karen Montojo combining for 26.
Mikaela Lopez had 23 points to pace Letran while Kathleen Barrinuevo and Glayssa Torres adding 12 and 10 points, respectively.
