Ukrainian Igor Subora cops URCC heavyweight title

MANILA, Philippines—Ukrainian Igor “Sugarfree” Subora crowned himself the new URCC heavyweight champion by scoring a Referee Stopped Contest (RSC) over Ryan Paglinawan in the Universal Reality Combat Championship-Colt 45 XX held over the weekend at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.

The 250-pound Subora pummeled Paglinawan with heavy blows to the head and body to win in just 49 seconds, the fastest win in the 10-fight event.
Surprisingly, all matches ended in the first round.

Australian Nicholas Mann emerged as the new light-heavyweight champion by pulling off an RSC victory over Chris Luna (4:59) while Red Romero dethroned bantamweight champion Jessie Rafols via a tap out (5:27) in the event co-presented by Tribal and backed by Frenzy Condoms, Chris Sports, Anzahl Paints, Yoshinoya, VRP Medical Center and World Trade Center.

Also scoring impressive wins were Froilan Sarenas who retained his middleweight title over Dexter Mistades, also via RSC (1:42) while Honorio Banario kept his lightweight crown after beating Patrick Manicad by armbar (3:09).

OTHER RESULTS: Will Chope scored a standing guillotine choke over Jerson Estorio (3:07); Pete Brooks won by a tap out over Frank Navarro; Rodel Orais thwarted Jilmar Tangayan; Andrew Benibe, also by RSC, over Sulpiano Laurio; and Adam Cacay over Lando Espinosa by rear naked choke (1:23)
