Lady Altas cling to playoff hopes after rout of Lady Bombers

University of Perpetual Help’s Final Four flame stayed alive after coming away with a three-set win over Jose Rizal University, 25-23, 25-22, 24-26, 25-15, in the NCAA Season 92 women’s volleyball tournament Friday at San Juan Arena.

The Lady Altas improved to a 5-3 record and a win over Arellano in their final elimination game will assure them of a playoff game for the last semifinals spot.

Coleen Bravo and Lourdes Clemente were on target for the Lady Eagles putting up 21 and 20 points, respectively, while having ample support from Jamela Suyat, who added 15.

Perpetual, as a team, showered JRU with an offense that featured 58 scoring spikes and nine service aces.

JRU wasn’t at par with the Lady Altas’ offensive barrage with the Lady Bombers throwing away 40 free points on errors and managing just 37 points off spikes.

Shola Alvarez led JRU with 18 points while Rosalie Pepito added 11 as the Lady Bombers slipped to 3-6.
