Montalbo, Potts get scribes’ nod

Playing key roles in their team’s championship runs last year, La Salle’s Kib Montalbo and San Beda’s Davon Potts will be cited in the Collegiate Basketball Awards this Thursday at Montgomery Place in Quezon City.
Montalbo, the defensive minded guard who thrived in La Salle’s Mayhem system, and Potts, the sweet shooting swingman who came up big in crunchtime for the Red Lions, will receive the Pivotal Player awards in the ceremony where some of their teammates will also be recognized.
Other awardees are Coach of the Year Aldin Ayo of La Salle and Jamike Jarin of San Beda. Making up the Mighty collegiate mythical five are La Salle’s Ben Mbala and Jeron Teng, San Beda’s Javee Mocon, Mapua’s Allwell Oraeme and Jio Jalalon of Arellano.
