Another spirited battle looms in The Country Club Invitational after all seven former winners signified their intention to join the P5-million event firing off Feb. 2 at the TCC course in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
“It’s going to be a thrilling fight, not only among us winners but also the rest of the field,” said Tony Lascuña, who won the premier event in 2004.
The TCC Invitational, put up by ICTSI chair and chief operating officer Ricky Razon in 2003 in memory of his father Don Pocholo, was momentarily shelved after Cassius Casas’ 2014 victory as the TCC course underwent a major facelift.
Other former winners Angelo Que, Juvic Pagunsan, Frankie Miñoza and Artemio Murakami are also upbeat of their chances for the P1.5 million champion’s purse. —ROY LUARCA
