C. France, Racal off to fiery starts

New recruits Michael Calisaan and Paul Desiderio lived up to the hype in leading Cafe France to an 83-67 rout of Tanduay in the 2017 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup Monday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Counted upon by coach Egay Macaraya to backstop Rod Ebondo, the two collegiate standouts did that and more as they powered a strong start for the Bakers in the second half before joining hands to put away the Rhum Masters in the last period.

Calisaan, the San Sebastian standout, tallied 23 points and seven rebounds, while Desiderio, coming off a breakout season with University of the Philippines, finished with 16 points.
Earlier, Racal leaned on an early blitz anchored by Rey Nambatac to deal guest team Blustar Detergent a 109-58 defeat.
