Former collegiate superstars Kiefer Ravena and Jeron Teng will join forces to spearhead Mighty Sports’ campaign in the Dubai International Basketball Championship slated Feb. 18 to 25.
Teng, who powered the La Salle Green Archers to two UAAP championships, and Ravena, who led the Ateneo Blue Eagles to two titles as well, have agreed to join the team to be coached by Charles Tiu.
Though they played for bitter school rivals, Teng and Ravena are actually longtime friends and have played together in the Philippine under-16 team eight years ago.
Teng capped his collegiate career by leading the Archers to a two-game sweep of the Eagles in last year’s UAAP finals.
Also in the roster of Mighty Sports are two-time PBA MVP Willie Miller, naturalized Filipino Marcos Douthit, Justin Brownlee, Hasheem Thabeet and TY Tang. —ROY LUARCA
