Jose Rizal University fended off a tough Batangas crew, 70-65, to grab its second win in the 2017 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

Ervin Grospe came up big for the Heavy Bombers with 20 points and three rebounds.

Tey Teodoro also had 18 markers, seven of which came in the third quarter where JRU erected an 11-point lead, 53-42, midway through the period.
