Global booters looking at another upset, tackle Brisbane Roar

Its confidence boosted by a stunning win last week, Global FC takes a crack at another historic feat as it goes for an upset against Australian side Brisbane Roar Tuesday night in the second preliminary phase of the AFC Champions League at Brisbane Park.

The reigning Filipino champions blanked Singapore side Tampines Rovers, 2-0, last Tuesday to set up the do-or-die duel with the Roar.


It will be the biggest match involving a Filipino club and Global is bracing for a test like no other against the Aussie side coached by former World Cup campaigner John Aloisi.

“Brisbane Roar is a strong team but anything is possible,”  said Global CEO Dan Palami. —Cedelf P. Tupas
