UAAP forfeits Baby Falcons’ 11 wins as Serrano deemed ineligible

The UAAP has laid down the law.

In a memorandum released on Wednesday, the UAAP Board of Trustees has declared Encho Serrano ineligible for the UAAP Season 79 juniors’ basketball tournament and ruled that all of Adamson High School’s 11 victories be forfeited.

“Mr. Serrano failed to submit the requires Secondary Student’s Permanent Record that would show/indicate his complete high school enrollments/records/credentials,” the statement read.

Serrano, 17, is the pacesetter for this season’s Most Valuable Player award after averaging 19.3 points on a 58-percent shooting, to go with 8.1 rebounds through 12 games.

Before the ruling, the Baby Falcons were a win away from clinching the twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four. Now, they will be the lone winless team with a 0-12 record.

Adamson, though, scored a 93-58 win over UST High School on Wednesday in its first game without Serrano.
