For the youngest member of the Cebuana Lhuillier-Philippine Davis Cup team, playing against Indonesia this weekend is his biggest challenge so far.
But Alberto Lim Jr., world No. 22 in juniors, said he is ready for the stern test when the Asia/Oceania Group 2 first round tie commences on Friday at Philippine Columbian Association indoor shell-clay courts.
Draw of lots to determine order of play will be at 10 a.m. Thursday also at PCA.
“When the country needs me I’m always gonna be ready,” said the 17-year-old Lim. “It’s a big opportunity for me and I want to make my country proud.”
Opening singles will start at 3 p.m. on Friday, while doubles match will be at 2 p.m. Saturday. Reverse rubbers will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The Philippines has lost the last two times it faced Indonesia, which holds a 6-4 edge in their head-to-head, in the meet sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission, Babolat and Cebuana Lhuillier.
