Johnvic De Guzman is in his last year at College of St. Benilde and the graduating Blazer is hellbent on leaving the school a champion.

“I’ll make sure to get it this time, this is my last playing year and I won’t leave my school without getting the championship,” said De Guzman Friday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
CSB swept the defending champions University of Perpetual Help Altas 25-17, 26-24, 25-17, to take a 1-0 advantage.

“Since beating them for the no.1 spot, I don’t see an intimidating team,” said De Guzman. “And all I can think of during the game was they won’t get a set against us.”
And if his status as a showbiz personality could benefit the team, De Guzman is certain it actually helped them to get more supporters.
“I think being an actor helps because we attracted more fans and they even support the volleyball team,” said De Guzman.
