Dy, La Salle still adjusting to reach top form

It seems Kim Dy and De La Salle have re-established their footing in the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament.
The Lady Spikers are now at 2-0, tied with National University and University of the Philippines atop the standings, after dealing UST a four-set loss, 25-23, 16-25, 25-14, 25-22.
La Salle, though, is careful not to fall into complacency amid its early success with still a lot of work to be done this season.
“Yes, we can say we have some momentum, since we’ve already won two games,” said Dy Saturday at San Juan Arena. “But we still have to adjust because the first two games wasn’t really how we played.”
La Salle was well ahead in the fourth set with an 18-5 lead but allowed UST to get within two points, 22-20, when Chloe Cortez smashed one home for the Golden Tigresses.
Dy, who had 16 points in the game, would give the Lady Spikers a 23-20 lead before Desiree Cheng finished the dance for La Salle.
While it took them an extra set, La Salle and Dy actually had additional motivation to get their second win at the expense of UST.
UST beat La Salle in the semifinals of the Unigames and that infuriated the Lady Spikers.
“Actually, we’re still feeling the sting of the Unigames because we lost to UST there,” said Dy.
