PGT kicks off new season
The Philippine Golf Tour kicks off its new season with the P3.5-million ICTSI Anvaya Cove Invitational set Feb. 15 to 18 in Morong, Bataan.
Leading the stellar roster are reigning Philippine Golf Tour Order of Merit champion Tony Lascuña, three-time Asian Tour winner Angelo Que, Japan PGA Tour campaigner Juvic Pagunsan, the revered Frankie Miñoza, Elmer Salvador, Jay Bayron, Jhonnel Ababa, Clyde Mondilla and Jobim Carlos.
Others vying for the top P650,000 purse at the wind-raked Anvaya Cove Golf and Sports Club layout are Ferdie Aunzo, Jerson Balasabas, Rufino Bayron, Jun Bernis, Michael Bibat, Cassius Casas, Marvin Dumandan, Albin Engino, Anthony Fernando, Mark Fernando, Zanieboy Gialon, Charles Hong, Keanu Jahns, Rey Pagunsan, Mars Pucay, Justin Quiban, Joenard Rates, Gerald Rosales and Orlan Sumcad.
Fifteen legs are on tap this year, with the organizing Pilipinas Golf Tournaments Inc. also staging The Duel, pitting aces from Visayas and Mindanao against those from Luzon. —ROY LUARCA
