MANILA, Philippines—Petron Blaze pounced on the atrocious ball handling of Shopinas.com in a 102-77 running roughshod Wednesday in the 2011 PBA Philippine Cup at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
Arwind Santos banged in his sixth double-double of the season–18 points and 11 rebounds—as the Blazers extracted a whopping 35 turnover points from the erratic Clickers.
The explosive guard duo ofJoseph Yeo and Alex Cabagnot also came in full blast with 16 points apiece in leading Petron Blaze improved to 5-3.
“We stuck to the game plan and reminded my players not to relax,” said Petron head coach Ato Agustin, whose squad nearly posted a couple of 29-point gaps.
Although the Clickers matched the Boosters’ output in the payoff period, they were punished severely with their horrible third quarter showing and was held to just nine points.
Ren Ren Ritualo scored 17 points and RJ Jazul added 16 points but it wasn’t enough to avert disaster and Shopinas.com crashed to its eighth loss of the conference with still no victories to its name.
