Barangay Ginebra has went through hell and back just to reach the PBA Philippine Cup Finals.

But facing two-time defending champion San Miguel could just mean the Gin Kings just entered a deeper circle.

The crowd darlings faced four do-or-die games en route to the PBA Philippine Cup Finals and LA Tenorio knows they’ve come too far to falter, even if its against the powerhouse Beermen.

“It’s impossible what we went through, but we were able to get through it,” said Tenorio of their elimination games Friday at the pre-Finals press conference at Sambokojin in Eastwood.

Ginebra, the no.7 team after the 11-game eliminations, had to beat Alaska twice to get to the semifinals where the Gin Kings erased a 3-2 series deficit against Star.

“And since we’re here in the Finals, we don’t want our efforts to go to waste.”

San Miguel has been the dominating force in the past two Philippine Cups, and the second one has been dubbed as the most special of all as the Beermen fought back from a 3-0 deficit against the Aces to complete the “Beeracle.”

Such feats only put San Miguel’s strength to great regard, and Tenorio said the goal of every team in the Philippine Cup is to take down San Miguel and it’s now their turn to take that shot.

“The goal of every team every Philippine Cup is to stop San Miguel, and now we’re the ones who got that chance,” said Tenorio. “Hopefully we’ll be able to do it.”
