University of Santo Tomas extended Adamson University’s misery in the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament with a quick three-set sweep, 25-13, 25-12, 25-9, Saturday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Golden Tigresses improved to 2-3 with two games remaining in their first round schedule while the Lady Falcons reeled to a 0-6 slate.

UST head coach Kung Fu Reyes hopes the win against the last-placed Lady Falcons could jumpstart their campaign which have been consistent so far.

“I hope this will be start of our improvement,” said Reyes, whose team stayed at the sixth spot. “We really have to work hard for our victories because whoever works harder in this league will always be crowned as the winners.”

UST’s offensive assault gave Adamson a nightmare with the Golden Tigresses unleashing 31 scoring spikes, seven kill blocks, and an impressive 14 service aces.

Adamson fared horribly, scoring just 16 spikes, three blocks and failing to register a single service ace.

Cherry Rondina had a game-high 15 points for UST while EJ Laure and substitute Alina Bicar combined for 12 points.

Jema Galanza had seven points to lead Adamson.
