BORACAY ISLAND—Centennial III caught the biggest prize of Philippine sailing for the third straight year.
But unlike their two previous title victories, skipper Judes Echauz and his all-Filipino crew have the luxury of gaining headway this time when Centennial III ruled the 320-kilometer Subic to Boracay race.
The 52-foot schooner placed second in the last two races Saturday to cement their claim of the 8th Standard Insurance Regatta 2017.
Karakoa, captained by businessman Rey Ordovez, finished second.
