Sta. Lucia eyes title in PSL debut

Two teams, Cocolife and Sta. Lucia, will spice up the Philippine Superliga Invitational Conference which starts Saturday at FilOil Flying V Center in San Juan City.

The Realtors, led by owners Michael Robles, said they will aim for no less than the title on their first foray into volleyball.

Cocolife will battle Generika in the opening match at 3 pm, while Foton squares off with Cignal at 5 pm. Petron clashes with Sta. Lucia in the third match of the day.

“We have been partners in sports especia,ly in basketball, boxing and football, and volleyball is a growing sport here in the country and we would like to be part of the experience,” said SLR team manager Michelle Robles-De Castro.

Sta. Lucia will be led by setter Djanel Cheng and Ria Sante who helped Arellano win the NCAA title recently.

The top three teams after the eliminations will advance to the semifinals, joining Japanese club Kobe Xinhua.
