Minimum wage workers in the United States earn a measly $7.25 (P366) per hour. Now imagine NBA role player Jose Calderon earning $415,000 (over P20 million) just for spending two hours with the Golden State Warriors.
After being waived by the Los Angeles Lakers, the 35-year-old Spaniard was on the verge of suiting up for the Dubs and serving as a third-string guard for the Western Conference powerhouse, Sports Illustrated reported.
However, after superstar Kevin Durant went down with a knee injury, the San Francisco-based franchise decided to tread a different path instead.
To fill in for his spot, the Warriors opted to use their remaining player slot to sign veteran forward Matt Barnes.

For his troubles, the team also paid him the full $415,000—the salary he would have earned if he stayed with the team for the rest of the season.
The team was keen on signing him, so much so that they already had his jersey prepared before their game against the Chicago Bulls.
