San Miguel just notched a 3-1 series lead against Ginebra in the Philippine Cup Finals, but three-time MVP June Mar Fajardo knows they can never be complacent as they get closer to the championship.

“Yes, it’s just one more game but we can’t relax,” said Fajardo Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum. “We’ll let our guards down when we finish this series.”

Fajardo, who claimed his fifth Best Player of the Conference award before Game 4’s tipoff, and the Beermen know a thing or two about blown series leads.

It was back in 2016 when the Beermen did the impossible and came back from a 3-0 series deficit against Alaska to notch the Philippine Cup.

Fajardo added Ginebra might come back stronger in Game 5 following San Miguel’s 94-85 win.

“Ginebra will probably come out stronger next game so we have to be ready,” said Fajardo, who finished 20 points and 13 boards to lead San Miguel. “We need to have discipline in executing our plays and be sharp on defense.”
