San Miguel legend Danny Ildefonso made the biggest prediction about his student June Mar Fajardo.

Ildefonso said Fajardo has the potential to win 10 MVP trophies in his career.

Fajardo, however, doesn’t seem to be to keen in winning that much individual glory.

“It’d be better if I win 10 championships, so that everyone will be happy and not just me,” said Fajardo Friday after receiving his fifth Best Player of the Conference award.

As far as MVP tallies go, Fajardo has already one-upped his mentor with his three trophies trumping Ildefonso’s two.

And Fajardo is just starting his fifth season in the PBA as compared to Ildefonso’s 17-year career.

Fajardo also tied Ildefonso’s all-time mark when it comes to BPC Awards before San Miguel beat Ginebra 94-85 in Game 4 of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals.

“I’m proud of what I’ve achieved because I’m not expecting that I’d tie his record,” said Fajardo. “But the barometer’s still the number of championships.”

Fajardo, despite his stellar career, still trails Ildefonso in terms of titles.

Ildefonso has amassed eight championships in his career while Fajardo is just gunning for his fourth.
