Tanduay hopes to get a much-needed boost in the 2017 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup as it signed ex-pro Jerwin Gaco on Sunday.
Gaco, who has won numerous PBA championships with the Purefoods franchise, will beef up the Rhum Masters starting Monday when they take on Batangas.
The 36-year-old Gaco has been in the PBA free agent pool this season. He last tried out for GlobalPort.
Also joining him in the Tanduay roster are former Ginebra swingman Dennice Villamor and JRU sniper Jaycee Asuncion.
They will replace Raphy Reyes, Dave Moralde, and Angelus Raymundo in the lineup.
Tanduay isn’t the lone team which made some tinkering in preparation for the playoffs.
AMA Online Education has also reactivated former University of the East forward Mark Olayon in lieu of Jai Flores, while Batangas has activated Mapua big man Jessie Saitanan for Wilmar Anderson.
The new acquisitions are eligible to play for their respective squads on Monday at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.
