Tey Teodoro played a superb fourth quarter as Jose Rizal University rallied to an 86-77 victory over Wangs Basketball to complete the quarterfinal cast in the 2017 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup Tuesday at JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

Teodoro took charge in the end game, pouring 17 of the Heavy Bombers’ 25 points in the fourth period. The high-scoring guard finished with 21 points, five rebounds and two assists.

“He had the right timing when he took charge,” JRU coach Vergel Meneses said of Teodoro. “I told him that with the game on the line, you have to get the ball. He’s a big-time player.”

JRU (4-4) advanced to the next round with Cignal (7-1), Cafe France (6-1), Racal (6-1), AMA Online Education (5-4) and Tanduay (4-3).

Racal also got its act together in the final quarter to hack out a 75-70 victory over Victoria Sports-MLQU in the other game.

Lervin Flores made huge stops in the fourth quarter and finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks.

“We had lots of miscommunications,” said Racal coach Jerry Codiñera. “I told them to not feel too confident because (Victoria) is very deceiving. Luckily, we made stops and we had good rotations in the end game.”
