Naitional University chalked up its second straight win in the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament at the expense of Adamson University, 25-21, 25-20, 25-19, Wednesday at Filoil Flying V Centre.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-3 and temporarily took the third spot while the Lady Falcons are yet to win a game in their eight outings.
NU, though, had to fight back in the third set from a 12-5 deficit before it could finish the Lady Falcons.
Lady Bulldogs head coach Roger Gorayeb, however, stilll wasn’t that satisfied with his team’s performance despite taking back-to-back wins.
“I wish we can call this little streak a recovery,” said Gorayeb after the Lady Bulldogs suffered three straight losses midway part in the first round. “It’s hard to tell because every game the kids have different emotions so they have a different character every game.”
“I don’t like it when my team plays toe-to-toe with Adamson and I don’t know why that happens.”
Jaja Santiago led NU with 15 points while Jorelle Singh added 10.
Jema Galanza had 15 points to lead the Lady Falcons.
