Arellano University danced its way to the NCAA Season 92 cheerleading competition crown with a near flawless routine Thursday at Mall of Asia Arena.

The Chiefs Squad took their second cheerleading plum, putting them as the only team, beside nine-time champion University of Perpetual Help, to become multiple-time title holders.

Arellano head coach Lucky San Juan said their championship all boiled down to heart and remembering what it was when they first won the prize a couple of years back.

“The heart we displayed when we won the title two years ago, we just doubled that up today,” said San Juan.

Arellano, the second placers in 2016, bested seven other teams with a 218 points while previous champion University of Perpetual Help took the silver medal after finishing with 199.5 points.

Mapua earned the bronze medal in the competition after scoring 191 points.

Last year’s third placer Emilio Aguinaldo College finished as the fifth-best team this Season 92 after scoring 164.5 points.

San Beda College, which just claimed its fifth general championship, finished fourth with 175 points while College of St. Benillde were at sixth with 156.5 points.

Lyceum of the Philippines had 143 points to finish seventh while Jose Rizal University rounded out the list as the eighth placers with 141 points.

Colegio de San Juan de Letran and San Sebastian College did not field teams for the competition.
