Surprise winner John Dizon gets to challenge Japanese defending champion Takaharu Nakamori again in the 2017 Petron Blaze 100 X30 Challenge Philippines karting series slated this weekend at Carmona Racing Circuit in Cavite.
Dizon of Edgesport Racing stole Race 2 from Nakamori during last week’s first leg and is expected to make the Senior X30 Blaze race a three-way fight with the entry of another Japanese ace, Handa Satsuki.
Eduardo Coseteng Jr. of Eagle Cement-Petron Racing also eyes a victory in the junior race of the series.
Nakamori topped Race 1 but yielded Race 2 to senior class “newbie” Dizon in the first two rounds, also at the Carmona venue. —STEVE SILVA, RACING CONTRIBUTOR
