PSC talent search kicks off
The Philippine Sports Institute has begun the arduous task of finding extraordinary athletes in the provinces.
One of the staging areas for the nationwide talent search was the municipality of Basista in Pangasinan, a small town of less than 33,000 people.
There, Philippine Sports Commission chair Butch Ramirez encouraged Basista Mayor Manolito De Leon and Mayor Noel Anthony Geslani of neighboring Malasiqui to identify 10 sports where their constituents may someday make the country proud in the international arena.
“We will help them set up a genuine sports program,” said Ramirez, whose team’s next stop is Cebu City.
